Apple iPad Mini Review: Small Tablet, Big Price Tag
Чтение
Apple has unveiled a significantly upgraded iPad mini, featuring an advanced OLED screen and enhanced performance. This highly anticipated eighth-generation device boasts water resistance and integrated display speakers, accompanied by a considerable price increase.
Priced from £699, the new mini represents a £200 premium over its forerunner, reflecting ongoing supply chain pressures. This places the device uncomfortably close to the larger 11-inch iPad Air, making it a notably expensive compact tablet.
The redesigned mini is thinner and lighter, yet impressively accommodates a larger 8.5-inch OLED display. Notably, it gains IP67 water resistance for improved durability and repositions the video call camera to the landscape edge.
Its vibrant OLED screen delivers stunning visuals with deep blacks, although it conspicuously lacks ProMotion smooth scrolling technology. The innovative speaker system, with woofers integrated into the display, provides remarkably powerful and clear audio for its slim profile.
Powered by the potent A20 Pro chip, the tablet offers robust performance and an impressive nine to ten hours of battery life. This premium device caters to a loyal following valuing portability and a larger screen than phones, despite its notable price.
