Outrage over rave at Russian State Library
Чтение
A leader in the Russian parliament suggested a library director should go to jail. This director allowed a "book event" at a big national library.
She said this event was a very bad thing for a holy place of books. Important historical leaders once worked there.
She wanted the director to be sent to prison for 25 years. She also suggested burning the library building and building a new one.
The event happened on November 1, 2026, in the main city library at night. This date is when Halloween is celebrated in many Western countries.
Some other public people called the event a very dark and bad act. A government department then said it would check the situation and punish those responsible.
