Global technology failure affects medical treatments and care for patients.

Many hospitals and businesses around the world had to stop working because of a problem with the internet. This problem happened because a company that helps keep computers safe made a mistake when updating its software.

Some hospitals were not affected by the problem, but others had to delay surgeries and other important appointments. Alison Baulos's father, Gary, was one of the people who had his surgery delayed because of this issue.

Gary was supposed to have heart surgery at Baptist Hospital in Kentucky, but he got a call early in the morning saying it had to be postponed. Even though it was disappointing, Gary made the best of the situation and enjoyed a pancake breakfast.

Other hospitals, like Guthrie Clinics in New York and Pennsylvania, also had to cancel appointments and surgeries. Sahana Singh, who had an appointment for a heart test, had to reschedule her appointment for two weeks later.

This problem showed everyone that we depend on technology a lot, and it can be scary when it doesn't work. Hopefully, the companies involved will fix this problem quickly so that hospitals and businesses can go back to normal.
