Remembering the Forgotten: The Impact of Holocaust Survivors in Cyprus.

Snunith Shoham was a baby when her family left a camp in Cyprus. These camps held Jewish people after the Holocaust, a terrible event in history.

Shoham went back to Cyprus for a special event, 76 years after the camps closed. She was born in one of these camps, where many babies were born.

Life in the camps was hard, so families with babies were allowed to leave for a new life. People in Cyprus who worked at the camps were kind and helped the Jewish people.

Not many people know about these camps, but a movie called “Exodus” showed what happened. Cyprus gave the Jewish people safety and care when they needed it most.

One Cypriot man, Captain Paul Rossides, helped guide ships full of Jewish people to safety. His daughter remembers how her mother made coffee for him while he worked hard to help.
