Northern Lights: Unexpected Colorful Displays in Surprising Locations.

The sun is having more solar storms than usual, making the northern lights happen more often. These lights have been seen farther south than usual, with beautiful colors like pink, purple, green, and blue.

The sun is currently at its most active point in its 11-year cycle, which means more solar activity. This period of high activity is expected to last for at least another year, according to experts.

Kelly Korreck from NASA says that we can expect to see more of these colorful light shows in the coming months. These solar storms can sometimes cause temporary problems with power and communication systems.

NOAA, a government agency, keeps track of solar storms and warns power companies and spacecraft operators about potential issues. In May, there was a very strong solar storm that caused the most intense light displays in over 20 years.

Even though that storm was strong, scientists say that past cycles have had even more intense storms. Just last week, a powerful storm created amazing auroras in places like Germany, the UK, New England, and even New York City.
