Scientists Discover New Predator Joaquinraptor in Patagonia

A new dinosaur was found in Argentina. Scientists found a bone from an old crocodile in its body. This shows the dinosaur ate crocodiles a very long time ago.

This dinosaur was big, about 23 feet long. It was a megaraptoran, a special kind of dinosaur. Megaraptorans lived in South America, Australia, and Asia millions of years ago.

Megaraptorans had long heads and strong claws. Lucio Ibiricu said the claws were big and powerful. Scientists don't know how they hunted because the fossils are not complete.

Scientists found a skull and bones in Patagonia. They saw special things in the bones. This helped them see it was a new kind of megaraptoran species.

The new dinosaur is called Joaquinraptor casali. It helps fill a gap in what we know. It lived around 66 to 70 million years ago, near when dinosaurs died out.
