Parents found guilty in Serbia school shooting: country is sad.

A court in Serbia found the parents of a teenage boy guilty of crimes related to a school shooting. The boy killed nine students and a guard at his school in Belgrade last year.

The father, Vladimir Kecmanovic, was sentenced to over 14 years in prison for not keeping his guns away from his son. The mother, Miljana Kecmanovic, received a three-year sentence for the same reason.

The shooter, 13 years old at the time, was too young to be tried in court. His parents were arrested shortly after the shooting and blamed for not securing their weapons.

This shooting was the first of its kind in Serbia and shocked the nation. People were devastated, and many protested for stricter gun laws.

Sadly, another shooting happened the day after the school shooting when a man killed nine people in a nearby village. These events led to protests and efforts to remove illegal guns from communities.
