Ruth Wilson has lupus. Lupus makes her body hurt all the time. Her immune system is attacking her body instead of protecting it.

Lupus has many different symptoms. Doctors are trying to understand these symptoms. They want to find better ways to treat this disease.

It took six years for Ruth to know she had lupus. She takes medicine every day to feel better. The medicine helps, but it does not cure her disease completely.

Sometimes she feels very tired and has pain. Sometimes her symptoms suddenly get much worse. These bad times make it hard for her to work and spend time with her family.

Ruth takes part in a study to help doctors learn more. She also helps other people who have lupus. She wants to help others and show them that they are not alone.
