Helping women make music: A new trend in Senegal's hip-hop scene.

Aminata Thiam is a beatmaker, a job where you make music with a computer. She teaches other women in Senegal how to make beats, too.

Aminata says more women should be beatmakers because it's a good job in music. She wants her students to make music for singers, movies, and more.

It can be hard for the students to keep making music after class because they need computers. Many women in Senegal don't have their own computers, even if the men in their families do.

Hip-hop music in Senegal used to be for people with a lot of money, but now people with less money make it, too. But not many women are in hip-hop yet because some people think it's not okay for them.

Aminata hopes that when more women make beats, it will encourage even more women to try it. She wants girls to know they can make music in different ways, not just by singing.
