Company papers show that Meta discussed a secret plan. They wanted to make a professor's ideas about social media seem wrong.

The professor wrote a book about how phones affect young people. His ideas helped create stronger safety rules for social media users.

Notes from company meetings showed plans to turn other experts against him. They hoped the news would then not believe what the professor said.

This way of working was meant to be quiet and not easy to see. They also thought about asking another expert to write a bad review.

The professor said he was not surprised by these discussions. These details were found because of a court case against Meta.
