Moldova Cracks Down on Corruption Before Elections

Moldova had some raids before an election. The anti-corruption group said they did more than thirty raids. They also caught one person because of party money from Russia using crypto.

The police said it was money problems and voting problems. Some people had a plan for the vote on Sunday. One person was caught and kept for three days by the authorities.

Officials think the money came from Russia. They said a group moved it with crypto accounts. The crypto was changed into cash and given to people in secret.

The police found money and important papers during the raids. They found about fifty thousand dollars in cash. They also saw almost five hundred forty thousand dollars moved with crypto.

Moldova will choose leaders in the election on Sunday. People will pick a group for the government. The choice is between joining Europe or being close to Russia.
