Pug Rescue South Africa: A Lifeline for Lovable Pets.

Cheryl Gaw runs a pug rescue center in South Africa. She started rescuing pugs with her husband after retiring. They didn't plan to start a rescue, but they ended up with lots of pugs in their home and decided to help more.

The center cares for about 200 pugs that have been abandoned, are sick, or need new homes. Cheryl says pugs are funny and loving dogs, but they always want to be close to you and shed a lot of hair.

The rescue center has a busy schedule for the dogs, starting with waking up early and having breakfast. They also get baths, play time, grooming, and medication if they need it.

Taking care of so many pugs is a lot of work and costs a lot of money, especially for vet bills. Cheryl says pugs often have health problems because of their short noses, which can make it hard to breathe.

Cheryl wants people to know that owning a pug is a big responsibility and they need special care. She says to be ready for vet bills and lots of hair, because pugs shed a lot!
