Poland's Law and Justice Party faces big fines before the presidential election.

Poland's electoral authority says the Law and Justice party broke campaign finance rules. The party was ordered to repay money and will get less government funding.

The Law and Justice party was in charge of Poland from 2015 to 2023 but lost power in the last election. The current government, led by Donald Tusk, is investigating the previous government for possible wrongdoing.

The electoral commission looked at the finances of all the parties that participated in the election. They found that Law and Justice spent too much public money on its campaign.
