Meta settles a $25 million lawsuit with Trump after suspending his account.

Meta, the company that owns Facebook, has agreed to pay $25 million to settle a lawsuit with Donald Trump. This happened after Facebook suspended Trump's accounts following the January 6th Capitol attack.

Most of the money, $22 million, will go to a nonprofit organization for Trump's future presidential library. The rest of the money will pay for lawyer fees and other costs related to the lawsuit.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, met with Trump to try to improve their relationship. During the meeting, Trump brought up the lawsuit and they decided to try to resolve it.

Trump sued Facebook, Twitter, and Google after they suspended his accounts or took other actions against him. He claimed they were unfairly censoring him and trying to hurt his chances of being re-elected.

This settlement with Meta is similar to another one Trump reached with ABC News, where they paid money to his presidential library to settle a defamation lawsuit. Trump has also filed lawsuits against other news organizations, claiming they have been unfair to him.
