Libya's continuous fight against migrant smuggling during political chaos.

Libyan soldiers caught hundreds of people trying to cross the desert. These people were hoping to reach the Mediterranean Sea and travel to Europe for a better life.

A group called the 444 Brigade, which works with the Libyan army, found the people and handed them over to the authorities. The group said they are against people smuggling and will keep patrolling the desert to stop it.

Many people from Africa and the Middle East travel through Libya to get to Europe. They are often escaping danger or poverty and pay smugglers to help them with the dangerous journey.

This year, almost 40,000 people have arrived in Italy and Malta from Libya by boat, according to the United Nations. These boats are often unsafe and European leaders want North African countries to stop people from even reaching the sea.

Libya is especially dangerous for migrants because of fighting between different groups. The United Nations has said that migrants in Libya are often treated very badly, including being tortured and starved.
