A U.S. airman named David Ibarra has been charged with manipulating a young 9-year-old girl to send inappropriate images. He initially contacted her through social media by pretending to be a much younger boy. David Ibarra, who is 31 years old, was taken into custody and appeared before a court in New York, where charges were filed against him. These charges include sexually exploiting a child.

Ibarra pretended to be a 13-year-old to chat with the girl on platforms like TikTok and Roblox. After gaining her trust, he convinced her to communicate through text where he further manipulated her. He sent the girl money and coerced her into sending explicit content back, using Apple Pay for transactions totaling $191.

The situation came to light when the girl's mother discovered the messages and took action. She tricked Ibarra by posing as an older sister, and managed to extract more information from him. Using the information from her daughter's interactions, she uncovered the identity of Ibarra after he inadvertently shared a selfie.

Law enforcement officials were able to confirm Ibarra's identity using his phone number and examining his iCloud account. They found substantial evidence linking him to these offenses. Upon interrogation, Ibarra confessed to his actions and mentioned he had coerced other girls as well, revealing the problem was more widespread.

Since his arrest, Ibarra has been suspended from his duties in the Air Force without pay. The full extent of military disciplinary actions he could face remains uncertain. His case is being processed, and he remains in custody as investigations continue and trial preparations go ahead.
