Jim O’Neill Leads CDC Amid Controversy

Jim O’Neill will lead the CDC now. He is taking over after the old director left. He used to be an investor and worked with Robert Kennedy. President Trump chose O'Neill to be in charge. This happened after some problems at the CDC.

Susan Monarez was the CDC director before. She was a scientist working for the government. She said she did not agree with some orders. Monarez did not want to fire health experts. She wanted to make choices based on science.

The CDC has had many changes recently. People have been fired or have quit their jobs. Some people want to change vaccine policies. O'Neill said he wants to work with the CDC staff. He will also add new people to the leadership soon.

O'Neill used to work with Peter Thiel. Thiel is a rich person who invests in technology. O'Neill worked on different projects for him. O'Neill does not have training in health. He studied humanities in school.
