The popularity of brackets really took off in the 1980s. Television helped make the tournament more exciting and people started paying more attention to the games.

Even though it's almost impossible to pick a perfect bracket, people still love to try. Bryce Yoder says he likes the challenge of trying to pick the winners and seeing how well he can do.
