Ransomware attack stops California courts: Phones and services not working.

Some courts in California lost their phone lines because of a ransomware attack. This attack targeted the biggest trial court in Los Angeles County.

The Los Angeles court provides phone services for courts in other counties like Shasta and Inyo. Because of this, these courts also lost their phone, fax, and text message services.

People who might need to go to court in Shasta County were told to check the website instead of calling. This is because the phone line that tells people about jury duty is not working.

The attack on the Los Angeles courts caused their computer system to shut down. Even though the courts reopened, some websites and online services are still not working.

The Shasta County court says that cases are still being heard as usual. They hope to have their phones working again by the end of the week.
