Cyprus is facing water shortages because of dry winters. The country will use more desalination plants to make clean water from seawater.

Cyprus will get four more small desalination plants that will make drinking water. These plants will start working next October and will help with the water problem.

Cyprus already has five bigger desalination plants, but one is not working right now. The government wants to make these plants bigger and build two more large ones.

These changes will take about ten years to finish and will double the amount of clean water. This will give Cyprus enough water for many years to come.

Cyprus also uses dams to store water, but they are not full because of less rain. The government is also fixing leaks and asking people to use less water.
