Governor Li Wenzhong helped fight farm pests in Henan province. He collected many insects from a very large field by hand.

He worked from early morning until evening, collecting 47 kg of insects. This action was to improve crop harvest, officials said.

The governor not only collected pests but also sorted them by type. He put large insects aside for later important study and research.

Agronomists said this manual work saved much time for the area. This pest control will be annual, and best collectors get a special title.

Governor Li said he does not think his action is special. He wants to show farmers how to achieve good harvests themselves.
